Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE -

The Bible -

That "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God," by which we understand the Bible, the Old Testament and New Testament. The Bible is inerrant in the original writing, infallible and God-breathed. The Bible’s teaching and authority are absolute, supreme and final. The Holy Spirit guided the holy men of old in what they wrote. 2 Timothy 3:16; Deuteronomy 4:2; 2 Peter 1:21 , 1 Corinthians 2:12-13

God –

God is the only Supreme Being. God was and is self-existent. Nothing was ever created before Him in all of existence, in all places, in all time. God created everything that has been created. God has always been God and always will be. God is holy, eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. God is love, light, spirit, truth, and Creator. God is to be worshiped, served and proclaimed.  Isaiah 43:10; Isaiah 44:6; Isaiah 44:8; 1 Timothy 1:17; Psalm 90:2; Revelation 4:8; Isaiah 57:15; Jeremiah 32:17; Jeremiah 32:27; 1 John 3:20; 1 John 4:8; 1 John 4:16; 1 John 1:5; John 4:24; Psalm 117:2, Isaiah 40:12; Isaiah 40:22; Isaiah 40:26; Genesis 24:26; Exodus 4:31; 2 Chronicles 29:28; 1 Corinthians 14:25; Revelation 7:11; Matthew 4:10; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Philippians 3:7; 1 Thessalonians 1:9; Hebrews 9:14; Matthew 28:19; John 14:15; Acts 1:8

There is one God in whom there are three eternal, distinct, simultaneous persons -- the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. All three are the one God, coeternal, coequal, having the same nature, attributes and perfection. Romans 1:20; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 4:35; John 17:5; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:18; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 1:1-3, 14 Gen 1:1-3, Luke 1:31-33; John 10:30; 1Tim 3:16; John 15:26, John 16:13; Rom 8:26, Isaiah 44:6; Isaiah 44:8; Isaiah 45:5; Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3:22; Matthew 3:17

The Lord Jesus Christ -

In the Personality and Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, truly God and truly man. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14, 18; Philippians 2:5-9; Hebrews 1:3, 8, John 10:30; Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:30-31; 1 Timothy 3:16; Colossians 1:19

That Jesus Christ became the sinner’s substitution before God and died as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. That the Lord Jesus Christ provided redemption for all men through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice. His shed blood is the only atonement for sin. All who by personal faith trust Jesus as Savior are freely justified and stand before God accepted in Christ. This justification is made sure by the literal, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1John 2:2; Rom 3:23-25; Heb 2:9; Col 1:13-14,20-21, Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:12; I Peter 1:3-5, 18-19, 2:24; 1 John 2:2

That Jesus Christ’s body was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that He ascended into Heaven and sits on the right hand of God as the believer's high priest and advocate. That the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus Christ. That the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest. He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. Luke 24:39; Acts 1:9-11; Ephesians 4:10; Hebrews 1:3; 1 John 2:1, Romans 8:34; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25, Hebrews 9:24

That Christ in the fullness of the blessings He has secured by His death and resurrection is received by faith alone and that the moment we trust Him as our Savior we pass out of death into everlasting life, justified from all things, accepted before the Father according to the measure of His acceptance, loved as He is loved and made one with Him. At the time of acceptance of Christ as Savior, He comes to dwell within the believer and to live out His life of holiness and power through Him. Hebrews 9:15; John 5:24; Romans 3:28; Romans 4:3, 23-25; Ephesians 1:3; John 17:23; Galatians 2:20; Galatians 4:6-7; Galatians 5:16; Acts 1:8, Luke 24:39,51

 The Holy Spirit -

In the Personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit, the Source and Power of all acceptable worship and service. The infallible Interpreter of the infallible Word, Who indwells every true believer. Who is ever present to testify of Christ Jesus and to fill us with Himself at all times.  John 15:26; Acts 5:3-4; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26- 27; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 12:13; John 16:13-14

That the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14

That the Holy Spirit is the Divine Teacher who guides believers into all truth and that it is the right of all believers to be controlled by the Spirit. He is the believer’s abiding Comforter, ever present to testify of Christ, filing us with Himself thus empowering us to override our sinful nature. John 16:13; I Corinthians 13; Ephesians 5:18; I John 2:20, 27

Creation -

That God spoke and the heavens, earth, and all therein came into being. Genesis 1:1-31; Exodus 20:11; Romans 1:20, Romans 8:20-22, Job 38-41, Psalm 19:1-3

Mankind -

That man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. A new nature imparted from God, a new life implanted by the Holy Spirit through the Word is absolutely essential to salvation from the kingdom of darkness and condemnation to eternal death. Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 10:6, Romans 3:10-18, Romans 3:22-23, Romans 5:12; Romans 8:7-8,  Ephesians 2:1-12; John 3:3, 6-7; Titus 3:5, 2 Corinthians 5:17

Salvation-

That Jesus Christ became the sinner's substitute before God, and died as a propitiatory sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. That He was made a curse for the sinner, dying for the sins of every person according to the Scriptures. 1 John 2:2; Hebrews 2:9; Galatians 3:13; Romans 3:25; Romans 4:4-5; Romans 5:8; Colossians 1:13-14, 20- 21

That salvation is the gift of God; that in grace He bestows eternal life upon any person who by faith trusts the Lord Jesus Christ as his own Savior from sin; that such a person passes immediately out of spiritual death into spiritual life, becoming a child of God. John 1:12, 3:16, 5:24; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-10

That all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are secure in Christ forever. John 10:27-30; Romans 8:38-39, Philippians 1:6; Colossians 3:1-4; I John 5:13; Hebrews 12:6-10

That spiritual victory is available for the true believer through reckoning himself dead unto sin, but alive unto God and through appropriating the privileges and promises of his heavenly citizenship. Spiritual victory is a result of submitting to God's authority from the heart/mind/will and applying God's Word by God's Holy Spirit's power for each believer, or follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 6:9-18; Colossians 3:1-5; Galatians 3:3; Galatians 5:16-18

That all believers in our Lord Jesus are called into a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices so to not to cause others to stumble or bring reproach upon the cross of Christ. Believers are created in Christ Jesus to do His good works. Galatians 6:10, 1 John 2:15-16; Romans 13:14; Romans 14:13; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 2:10. Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 6:14 -7:1; Ephesians 5:11; 2 Timothy 2:19, 2 Tim 3:1-5; I John 2:15-17

That God is sovereign in the bestowment of His gifts of His indwelling Holy Spirit in each believer. We believe that God responds to prayer His way, within His good will and for His great glory. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 13:8-10; Ephesians 4:7-12; Hebrews 2:3-4, John 14:12-14, 15:7; 1 John 5:14-15

Baptism -

Baptism is an important act of obedience for a Christian which signifies a person's identification with Christ. It is not necessary for salvation. It is an outward manifestation of an inward reality of trust in the sacrifice for Christ, of conversion, and of identification with Christ. The act of water baptism does not save anyone. We are made right before God by His grace through faith. Romans 3:28-30; Romans 4:3; Romans 4:5; Romans 5:1; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 2:21; Philippians 3:9; Acts 10:44-48; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 4:5; Colossians 2:12, Ephesians 2:8

The Church -

That the Church is composed of all those who truly believe and follow the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. It is the Body and the Bride of Christ. That every believer is baptized into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit, and having thus become members of one another we are responsible to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace and loving one another in Christ with a pure heart fervently. That the souls of those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into God's Presence, and there remain in conscious joy until the resurrection of the body at His coming, when soul and body reunite and shall be with Him forever in glory. Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

That the souls of the lost remain after death in conscious misery until the final Great White Throne Judgment, when soul and body reunited at the resurrection shall be cast "Into the lake of fire" which is "the second death," to be "punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power". 2 Thessalonians 1:8- 9, Luke 16:22-23, 27-28; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:5, Revelation 21:8, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, James 4:4, Romans 1:29-32,  2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
